Attend From Where We Stand Gallery Exhibit

Meet our participants this Thursday and view their final works

View a collection of the best images from each participant of The Stand’s From Where We Stand summer storytelling project during the opening reception to our gallery exhibit being held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the The Link Gallery at the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St.

Guests will get to meet and hear from project participants and their mentors and enjoy appetizers and beverages.

This project’s goal was to put real families behind the camera to tell their own stories. Under the direction and guidance of professional mentors, the participants’ photography skills rapidly improved, their confidence grew and, for many, a new hobby developed. During the event, guests will also view a short film and slideshow produced by participants.

The still image exhibit will continue to be on display at the gallery through mid October.

The Link Gallery is accessible to wheelchair users via a street-level power-assist door adjacent to The Window Projects Gallery on West Fayette Street. For more information regarding special needs, contact Stephen Mahan at (315) 443-0463.

The event is free and open to the public. Limited parking is available in The Warehouse Lot (WHSE); call SU Parking Services for details (315) 443-4652. The gallery is on the Connective Corridor Free Shuttle Route; see Centro #543.
